Is It A Derby?

Settle the local derby debate once and for all. Pick two English football clubs and get a scored verdict (0-100) on whether it’s a proper derby or not. Covers 151 clubs from the Premier League down to National League North & South.

The score is based on distance between grounds, tier-adjusted radius (what counts as “local” scales with league level), club density adjustment (in dense areas like London the radius tightens, in sparse areas a “loneliness bonus” widens it), and bonuses for same city, same county and same tier.

Features include an interactive map showing both grounds, club colour badges, 90+ historical straplines for notable matchups, a leaderboard of the top 50 highest-scoring derbies, and Wordle-style sharing for group chats.
